Ruling on what a photographer earned before he repented

I earned money by working as a photographer and I am prepared to give it up to seek the pleasure of Allaah and His Messenger. What is the ruling on that money? Is it haraam or what should I do with it?.

Praise be to Allaah.

I hope that there will be nothing wrong with it because when
you earned it you were not certain that it was haraam because you were
unaware of the shar’i ruling, or because of the confusion resulting from
those who permit photography. Allaah says concerning the people who deal
with riba (interpretation of the meaning):

“So whosoever receives an admonition from his Lord and
stops consuming Riba, shall not be punished for the past; his case is for
Allaah (to judge); but whoever returns (to Riba), such are the dwellers of
the Fire — they will abide therein.”

[al-Baqarah 2:275].

May Allaah save us and you from it. We understand from this
verse that the past earnings from work that is not Islamically acceptable
are permissible, if a person repents to Allaah and gives it up. If you give
it or part of it in charity to be on the safe side, that is good, because
the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever
guards against the doubtful matters will protect his religious commitment from shortcomings and will protect his honour from slander.” As for it being obligatory to give it in charity, I do not know of any clear evidence to that effect. End quote.

Now days we as Muslims have to spread the voice to learn quran and so we could gain the true knowledge and the quran teaching that is give to us by our beloved prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and do quran reading. Do we as Muslim ask our self that why we are at the peak of destruction? The answer will be simple that we have left our roots the holy quran we should guide promote Islam from in our homes first and let learn our kids quran  and encourage them in doing quran memorization this should be our first goal for it we can do different stuff like let then participate in different online quran recitation competition to let them listen quran from different online quran reciters and along with it we elders should learn quran also and improve our knowledge of quran and Islam and learn holy quran tafseer because to understand and learn quran Arabic and for this now a days there are many online quran tutor available who teach tajweed quran and its translation and tafseer so let us join our hands to be the voice of Islam and let improve the image of it as well and full fill our duty .

Ruling on pictures shown on the television

The Angels do not enter a house in which there are images showing animate beings. What is the ruling on the images which enter our houses whether we like it or not by means of the television? I do not think there is any house that is free of these televisions nowadays.

Praise be to Allaah.

Images on the television do not come under the same ruling as
permanent images in the house, because they are shown and go.

And Allaah is the source of strength. May Allaah send
blessings and peace on our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
End quote.

Ruling on the crime of rape

What is the ruling on the crime of rape in Islam?.

Praise be to Allaah.

The Arabic word ightisaab refers to taking something
wrongfully by force. It is now used exclusively to refer to transgression
against the honour of women by force (rape).

This is an abhorrent crime that is forbidden in all religions
and in the minds of all wise people and those who are possessed of sound
human nature. All earthly systems and laws regard this action as abhorrent
and impose the strictest penalties on it, except a few states which waive
the punishment if the rapist marries his victim! This is indicative of a
distorted mind let alone a lack of religious commitment on the part of those
who challenge Allaah in making laws. We do not know of any love or
compassion that could exist between the aggressor and his victim, especially
since the pain of rape cannot be erased with the passage of time – as it is
said. Hence many victims of rape have attempted to commit suicide and many
of them have succeeded, The failure of these marriages is proven and they
are accompanied by nothing but humiliation and suffering for the woman.

Islam has a clear stance which states that this repugnant
action is haraam and imposes a deterrent punishment on the one who commits
it.

Islam closes the door to the criminal who wants to commit
this crime. Western studies have shown that most rapists are already
criminals who commit their crimes under the influence of alcohol and drugs,
and they take advantage of the fact that their victims are walking alone in
isolated places, or staying in the house alone. These studies also show that
what the criminals watch on the media and the semi-naked styles of dress in
which women go out, also lead to the commission of this reprehensible
crime.

The laws of Islam came to protect women's honour and modesty.
Islam forbids women to wear clothes that are not modest and to travel
without a mahram; it forbids a woman to shake hands with a non-mahram man.
Islam encourages young men and women to marry early, and many other rulings
which close the door to rape. Hence it comes as no surprise when we hear or
read that most of these crimes occur in permissive societies which are
looked up to by some Muslims as examples of civilization and refinement! In
America – for example – International Amnesty stated in a 2004 report
entitled “Stop Violence Against Women” that every 90 seconds a woman was
raped during that year. What kind of life are these people living? What
refinement and civilization do they want the Muslim women to take part in?

The punishment for rape in Islam is same as the punishment
for zina, which is stoning if the perpetrator is married, and one hundred
lashes and banishment for one year if he is not married.

Some scholars also say that he is required to pay a mahr to
the woman.

Imam Maalik (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

In our view the man who rapes a woman, whether she is a
virgin or not, if she is a free woman he must pay a “dowry” like that of her
peers, and if she is a slave he must pay whatever has been detracted from
her value. The punishment is to be carried out on the rapist and there is no
punishment for the woman who has been raped, whatever the case. End quote.

Al-Muwatta’, 2/734

Shaykh Salmaan al-Baaji (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

In the case of a woman who is forced (raped): if she is a
free woman, the one who forced her must pay her a “dowry” like that of her
peers, and the hadd punishment is to be carried out on him. This is the view
of al-Shaafa’i, and it is the view of al-Layth, and it was also narrated
from ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allaah be pleased with him).

Abu Haneefah and al-Thawri said: the hadd punishment is to be
carried out on him but he is not obliged to pay the “dowry”.

The evidence for what we
say is that the hadd punishment and the “dowry” are two rights, one of which
is the right of Allaah and the other is the right of the other person. So
they may be combined, as in the case of a thief whose hand is cut off and he
is required to return the stolen goods. End quote.

Al-Muntaha Sharh al-Muwatta’,
5/268, 269

Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

The scholars are unanimously agreed that the rapist is to be
subjected to the hadd punishment if there is clear evidence against him that
he deserves the hadd punishment, or if he admits to that. Otherwise, he is
to be punished (i.e., if there is no proof that the hadd punishment for zina
may be carried out against him because he does not confess, and there are
not four witnesses, then the judge may punish him and stipulate a punishment
that will deter him and others like him). There is no punishment for the
woman if it is true that he forced her and overpowered her, which may be
proven by her screaming and shouting for help. End quote.

Al-Istidhkaar, 7/146

Secondly:

The rapist is subject to
the hadd punishment for zina, even if the rape was not carried out at
knife-point or gun-point. If the use of a weapon was threatened, then he is
a muhaarib, and is to be subjected to the hadd punishment described in the
verse in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“The recompense of those
who wage war against Allaah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is
only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be
cut off from opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their
disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter”

[al-Maaidah 5:33]

So the judge has the choice of the four punishments mentioned
in this verse, and may choose whichever he thinks is most suitable to attain
the objective, which is to spread peace and security in society, and ward
off evildoers and aggressors.

Description of flogging for an unmarriezd person who commits zina

The punishment for zina For unmarried person as in islam is

“The fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them with a hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allaah” [al-Noor 24:2]

For this punishment to be applicable, Allaah has laid down the condition that the act be witnessed by four men whose word can be trusted; a confession does away with the requirement of four witnesses.

1) My quistion is after 100 lashes the genrally( if person is of normal personality or not very strong) the man will remain alive or not ?

2) How hard or powerful this lashes will be? is there any standard to apply so much strength on each lash?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Flogging in the case of hudood punishments is not meant to kill, rather it is
intended as a form of discipline and rebuke, and to purify the person of sin. Hence many fuqaha’ have pointed out that it must be done with
moderate force, and the person carrying out the punishment should not raise his arm so high that his armpit shows, and he should not use a new
whip, or strip the person of his clothing unless it is something like a thick coat, which should be removed. The person being punished should be
flogged standing, according to the majority of scholars; he should not be made to lie down and he should not be bound, and blows to the face, head
and genitals are to be avoided.

Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Rather the blows should be
distributed all over the body, so that each limb will have its share, but most of them should be on the fleshy parts such as the buttocks and
thighs, and the sensitive areas should be avoided, namely the head, face and genitals of men and women alike.

He said concerning the person being punished that he should not be made to lie
down, or be bound, and we do not know of any difference of opinion concerning that.

Ibn Mas’ood said:  It is not prescribed in our religion to make the offender lie
down or to tie him up or remove his clothing. The companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) flogged
offenders but there is no report that any of them made the offender lie down or tied him up or removed his clothing.

His garment should not be removed, rather he is it acceptable if he is wearing one
or two garments, but if he is wearing a thick coat, it should be removed, because if it is left on he will not feel the blows. Ahmad said: If
winter garments are left on him, he will not feel the blows. Maalik said: His clothes should be removed [apart from that which covers the ‘awrah],
because the command to flog implies that the blows should be directly to his body. We have the view of Ibn Mas’ood, and we do not know of any of
the Sahaabah who differed with him. Allaah did not command us to strip the offender, rather he commanded us to flog him, so whoever is flogged
through his clothes has been flogged.

And he said: Once this is established, then the whip should be of moderate
quality, not so new that it would cause injury and not so worn out that it hardly hurts him. It was narrated that a man confessed to the Messenger
of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that he had committed zina, so the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) called for a whip and he was given a broken whip. He said, “Better than this.” So he was brought a brand new whip. He said,
“Something between these two.”  Narrated by Maalik from Zayd ibn Aslam in a mursal report; and it was narrated from Abu Hurayrah in a musnad
report.

It was narrated from ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he said: Moderate blows with a
moderate whip. Not so harsh as to kill and not so weak as to be no deterrent. He should not raise his arm completely, or keep it so low that it
causes no pain. Ahmad said: His armpit should not show in any of the hudood punishments, i.e., he should not raise his arm so high, because the
point is to discipline him, not kill him.

From al-Mughni, 1/141-142.

From the above it is clear that an ordinary person will not usually be killed by
flogging; the purpose is to serve as a rebuke and discipline. And the believers should witness this punishment, as Allaah says (interpretation of
the meaning):

“The fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them with a hundred stripes.
Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allaah, if you believe in Allaah and the Last Day. And let a party of the
believers witness their punishment”

[al-Noor 24:2]

And Allaah knows best.

Muslim attitude towards the sin of homosexuality

Dear sir,

How are you? I am currently researching issues related to
Homosexual persecution In Asia, especially Malaysia. I hope
that you could kindly help answer a few of my questions.

1)How are homosexuals (Muslim & non-muslim) being treated
in Malaysia?

2)How severe will the punishment be?

3)How does society perceive homosexuals?

4)Is homosexuality legal?

Thank you very much for your kind help.

Praise be to Allaah.

We do not have any information about homosexuality in Malaysia, but we
assume that the Muslims there feel total abhorrence towards this shameful
act, because their religion, Islam, emphatically forbids this deed and
prescribes a severe punishment for it, in this world and the next. How
could it be otherwise, when the Prophet of Islam
(peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever you find committing the
sin of the people of Lut (Lot), kill them, both the one who does it and the
one to whom it is done" - i.e. if it is done with consent. (This hadeeth was
narrated by al-Tirmidhi in his Sunan, 1376)

The scholars of Islam, such as Maalik, al-Shaafi'i, Ahmad and Ishaaq said
that (the person guilty of this crime) should be stoned, whether he is
married or unmarried.

There is no doubt that this act, which goes against the pure human nature
created by Allaah, by making men content with men and women with
women, destroying families, adversely affecting the birth rate, causing the
spread of killer diseases, harming the innocent when children are raped, and
generally spreading corruption on earth, should be uprooted and stamped
out.

Perhaps your research will lead you to find out much more about this
religion with its great laws and accurate rules and the wisdom of the One
Who revealed it.

I ask Allaah to grant you help and success, for Allaah is the One Who
guides to the Straight Path.

Can a thief have his hand surgically reattached?

In the event that the punishment of amputation is carried out, is the criminal entitled to have the amputated hand reattached by means of a surgical procedure?.

Praise be to Allaah.

The thief has no right to have the amputated hand reattached,
because that means that the signs of the punishment for his crime disappear,
and the effectiveness of the rebuke and lesson is lost. It is contrary to
the idea of punishment and example as mentioned in the verse in which Allaah
says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And (as for) the male
thief and the female thief, cut off (from the wrist joint) their (right)
hands as a recompense for that which they committed, a punishment by way of
example from Allaah. And Allaah is All‑Powerful, All‑Wise”

[al-Maa'idah 5:38]

Reading quran and exploring it is the true duty of a Muslim because it contains Allah’s message to all people and the quran teaching tells the people that how to act correctly. By learning quran you will find that it guides us to a correct way of life in this world. We as a practicing Muslim should teach our kids quran and let the kids learn quran recitation and do quran memorization and we also do quran memorization by heart and there is an other importing thing that learn quran with tajweed because the tajweed rules are very important regarding the pronunciation and way or read the holy quran and further more enhancing the quranic studies by learning quran tafseer and reading quran the translation with it listening to quran online with the quran recitation don by some of the top reciter also. It is the Book of Allah also talks about life after death. It tells us that Allah has prepared Paradise for good people and Hell for bad people. Wile reading Quran we see that it encourages the worship of only one God Who creates and provides for them. The Book forbids people from evil and condemns those who do wrong. It contains stories of the past Prophets and the examples of bad and good people. Find online quran courses

Her husband is going to divorce her and she is in the early stages of pregnancy. Can she have an abortion?

Islam Question and Answer - Her husband is going to divorce her and she is in the early stages of pregnancy. Can she have an abortion?

My husband and I have a lot of problems, and we are about to separate. Then I found out that I am pregnant, in the first forty days of pregnancy. Is it permissible for me to abort this foetus without my husband’s permission, because he will not be pleased with that? If we are going to separate, why should I remain pregnant?.

Praise be to Allaah.

I asked our Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahmaan al-Barraak about this
question and he replied:

It is not permissible for her to have an
abortion without her husband’s permission, because the husband has a right
concerning the child just as the wife does.

Following note from Learning Quran online Blog

Learn holy Quran online which it self states in it that only those who are learn quran and pure should touch the holy text: This is indeed a Quran in Arabic in a book well-guarded, which none shall touch but those who are clean (56:77-79).  One should make formal ablutions before handling or Quran reading and this the quran tutor should tell in his quran teaching when quran for kids lessons are going on. After intercourse or menstrual bleeding one should not touch the holy Quran or do quran recitation and also not do quran memorization until after bathing non-Muslim should not handle the sacred text, but may listen to Quran online or read quran translation or exegesis. With all these things in mind when one is not reading or reciting holy Quran it should be closed and stored in nice and clean place, it should never be placed on floor or in a bathroom and Muslim should focus on reading quran the tajweed quran and its rules with a proper institute.

His father killed his mother; can he take the inheritance from him on the basis that it is diyah (blood money)?

My father murder my mother when i was very young 15 years old. Both my mother and father are kafir and i was a kafir at that time.My father never went to prison for the crime, now he is very old and may die soon.He is planning to leave me alot of money. Can i accept this money? Ca it be consider blod money?

Praise be to Allaah.

We
put this question to Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen, may
Allaah preserve him, who answered as follows:

 If
he is going to give it to you on the basis that it is diyah (blood money),
then you should not take it, because he is a kaafir and you are a Muslim;
a Muslim cannot inherit from a kaafir, and diyah is a kind of inheritance.
If he is going to give it to you just to make you feel better (as a gift),
then there is nothing wrong with taking it. And Allaah knows best.

The things Muslim should do. We as Muslim should give our first priority in learning quran and do quran reading to seek the right path of Islam and through the quran teaching we can achieve the goal of our life and the deputy to guiding our kids to learn Koran that we should fulfill with perfecting kids quran recitation power and knowledge in Islam and also motivate our children’s to do quran memorization and then guide them to learn holy Quran tafseer  so they could understand the quran in Arabic and the quranic translation and also let or kids to listen quran from top quran reciters to get them inspired. at last I would pray for all my Muslim brothers and sisters that may Allah accept there Dwas and prayers and inspire you with the teachings of our holy prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) so let us join hands and spread the knowledge that every Muslim is born to spread the knowledge of Islam now a day many online quran tutor are available for kids and elders to learn tajweed quran and with exact pronunciation and perfect the quran recitation online with qualified teaching staff  who can guide then with there experience and knowledge and the write teachings to help us in achieving the path of Jannah so learn quran and its teaching and spread the word of Allah

Quran - Word of God?, Can Holy God command to commit adultery or sin?

Is Quran the Word of God? Part 4

Holy Spirit in the Quran

2 Tim 3:16-17, "All Scripture is given by inspiration
of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly
equipped for every good work."

Before we explore whether Quran was given by Holy Spirit
or not let us find out who Holy Spirit is. The whole Bible tells us that
Holy Spirit is none other than the Spirit of God.

Holy Spirit has all the qualities of God for example:

Holy Spirit gives life - as we read in Job
33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives
me life."

Holy Spirit is Spirit of Truth(God) - John
14:17, "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because
it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with
you and will be in you.
"

Holy Spirit is resurrection - Rom
8:11, "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells
in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your
mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."

Grieving Holy Spirit is sin and Holy Spirit dwells
in those who walk in the ways of God as we read in
Isa
63:10-11, "But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned
Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them. Then he
remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying: "Where
is He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock?
Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them."

But Quran has confused so much regarding Holy Spirit. Quran
says that Holy Spirit is called angel Gabriel and Muhammad. Let us look
why angel Gabriel and Muhammad could not be Holy Spirit.

Angel Gabriel cannot be Holy Spirit:

1. Angels are creation of God but Holy Spirit is the Spirit
of God whom God never created. Bible tells us that Holy Spirit is life
giving. Not only the Bible but Quran also tells us that Holy Spirit breathed
in the nostril of Adam and he became a living creature. But angel Gabriel
is only an angel and he is not God. Angels do not have the power to create
or give life to anybody. God alone can give us life.

God cannot be brought low to the level of angels or God's
creation. It is blasphemy to say that angels are God or Holy Spirit.

2. When God breathed in the nostril of Adam and when he
became a living creature, does it mean that God breathed angel Gabriel
in Adam's nostril? I do not think so. Bible tells us that Holy Spirit
came and dwelt in the lives of prophets and those who walked in the ways
of God. They got filled with the Holy Spirit or Spirit of God. We do not
read in the Bible as if God filled people with angel Gabriel.

3. Angels have limited power but God has unlimited
power.
Holy Spirit has all power as the Bible
tells us that Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, (Romans 8:11).

Angels do not have power over life and death but God has.

Muhammad cannot be Holy Spirit:

1. Bible tells us that Spirit of God is the creator
as we read in
Job 33:4, "The Spirit
of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life."
Spirit of God has made us but we all know that
Muhammad was just a human being. Muhammad cannot create anybody.

2. Jesus said in John
14:17, "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because
it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with
you and will be in you."

In this verse Jesus clearly spoke that Spirit of Truth is
invisible and that the world does not know Him. Muhammad was visible to
people and Muhammad was not with Jesus or His disciples and Muhammad did
not live in them after the ascension of Jesus.

Holy Spirit lived in and with the people not only
in New Testament times but also in the days of Old Testament. Joseph,
Moses, David, Saul, Samson, Daniel and all the prophets were filled with
Holy Spirit.
Dan 4:8 tells us that Daniel
had the Spirit of the Holy God in him. When David sinned against God he
prayed in Psa 51:11, "Do not cast me away from Your presence, And
do not take Your Holy Spirit from me." When Saul sinned against God,
God's spirit left him as we read in 1 Sam 16:14, "Spirit of the LORD
departed from Saul."

So we can understand that Muhammad is not Holy Spirit or
Spirit of God.

3. Holy Spirit is the living water Himself as we read
in
John 7:37-39, "On the last day, that
great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone
thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture
has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." But
this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would
receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not
yet glorified.

In Old Testament we read that God is the Living Water
in
Jer 2:13, "For My people have committed
two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn
themselves cisterns; broken cisterns that can hold no water." And
in Jer 17:13, "O LORD, the hope of Israel, All who forsake You shall
be ashamed. "Those who depart from Me Shall be written in the earth,
Because they have forsaken the LORD, The fountain of living waters."

Jesus was ofering Living Water to the woman whom He
met on the well in
John 4th chapter. John
4:10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God,
and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked
Him, and He would have given you living water."

God, Jesus and Holy Spirit all are mentioned as Living Water.
But Mohammad was a mere man, he wasn't Holy Spirit.

4. Jesus said in John
14:26, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send
in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance
all things that I said to you."

God the father never sent Muhammad as he denied the
fatherhood of God. Jesus called God, Father and Jesus told His disciples,
"when Holy Spirit will come, He will bring to your remembrance all
things that I said to you." But Muhammad's teachings were entirely
different from the message of Jesus. Jesus also said in
John
16:13-14, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will
guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority,
but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to
you."

Muhammad never glorified Jesus but tried to distort the
message of Jesus, the work of Jesus on the cruel cross and His shed blood
for mankind for the remission of sin. So of course Muhammad was not Holy
Spirit.

All these things prove that angel Gabriel and Muhammad have
no qualities of God or Holy Spirit and they are not Holy Spirit or Spirit
of God.

~The Noble Holy Al Qur'an Nur Karim~

The Noble Holy Al Qur'an Nur Karim~

The Noble Qur’an: its Virtue and Status as a Source of Legislation

The Noble Qur’an is Allah’s Word through which Allah swt expressed Allah swt commands and teachings. The Noble Book,The Holy Al Qur'an raised above any possible description. The Noble Qur’an was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (The Prophet Muhammad Rasulullah S.a.w) and was accepted by the believers as being the essence of truth. Moreover, the believers maintain that it is the Word of Allah and not the words of any of Allah creatures. Thus, whosoever claims that it is the words of a human being becomes a disbeliever.

Allah described the Qur’an in the following verses: "And verily, it is an honourable well-fortified respected Book (because it is Allâh’s Speech, and Allah s.w.t has protected it from corruption). Falsehood cannot come to it from before it or behind it: The kitab was sent down by the All-Wise, Worthy of all praise ~Allâh S.w.t. (41:41,42). The Qur’an was also described by Allah in this verse: "(This is) a Book, the Verses whereof are perfected (in every sphere of knowledge), and then explained in detail from One (Allâh), Who is All-Wise Well-Acquainted (with all things). (11:1)

In fact, the verses of the Noble Qur’an are very accurate, clear and obvious; they are perfected by the All-Wise and detailed by the All-Aware. This Qur’an will remain a miraculous Book with regard to the rhetorical, legislative, scientific, and historical aspects. It will remain unchallengeable in these and other aspects till the end of the world. It is preserved from the least kind of distortion; as Allah [ All praises to Allah god of the universes] said: "Verily, We,and only We Who have sent down the Dhikr ( the Qur’ân) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). (15:9)

The world as a whole has not got such a conclusive and comprehensive book as the Noble Qur’an, that contains all kinds of goodness, all the methods for guiding humanity to the straight path and all the means of happiness for humankind in this world and in the Hereafter. Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes] said: "Verily, this Qur’ân guides to that which is most just and right and gives glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allâh and Allah Messenger,The Prophet Muhammad Rasulullah S.a.w ) who do deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a great reward (Paradise). (17:9)

The Noble Qur’an was revealed by Allah to Allah Messenger The Prophet Muhammad Rasulullah S.a.w) in order to lead the people out of the darkness of ignorance and polytheism to the light of guidance and Islamic. Allah[ All praises to Allah god of the universes] said: "(This is) a Book which We have revealed unto you (O Muhammad (S.a.w)) in order that you might lead mankind out of darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of belief in the Oneness of Allâh and Islâmic Religion) by their Lord’s Leave to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all Praise". (14:1)

Through the Noble Qur’an, Allah [ All praises to Allah god of the universes] recovered the eyes blinded from seeing the truth, the ears deafened from listening to the truth and the hearts sealed and hindered from assimilating the reality. Through the Noble Qur’an, Allah promised happiness for Muslims in this world and in the Hereafter if they recite it in the way ordained by Allah, understand its Surahs and verses; comprehend the holy sentences and words, consider the limits by Allah included therein; follow the orders; refrain from the prohibitions; adjust their way of life in accordance with the legislation included therein and apply the principles and values to themselves, their families and communities. Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes ] said: "Those (who embraced Islâm from Banî Israel) to whom We gave the Book [the Taurât (Torah)]at that time and [of those (Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him)Ummah companions) to whom We have given the Book (the Qur’ân)] recite it (obey its orders and follow its teachings) as it should be recited ( follow), they are the ones that believe therein. And whoso disbelieve in it (the Qur’ân), those are they who are the losers). (2:121)

The well-known companion, Ibn ‘Abbas, said that this verse means: "Those are the people who follow the Noble Qur’an in the way it should be followed. They regard the unlawful included therein as unlawful and the lawful as lawful. They do not change the words from their (right) places."

The companion of the Prophet, Qatadah, said: "The reference in the verse is to the Ummah companions of The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) who believe in the Book of Allah [ the Noble Qur’an~The Final Book], confirm this belief in their hearts, consider its lawful as lawful and its unlawful as unlawful and act according to the teachings included therein".

That is why the Jinn were impressed with the Noble Qur’an when they heard it. Their hearts were filled with its love and they hastened to call their people to believe in the Holy Al Qur'an the Glorious Book. Allah [exalted and glorified be only upon Allah s.w.t] said: "Say (O Muhammad (peace be upon him)): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinn listened (to this Qur’ân). They said: ‘Verily, we have heard a wonderful Recitation (this Qur’ân)! ‘It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything other than with our God (Allâh). ‘And Allah, exalted be the Majesty of our God, has taken neither a wife nor a son (or offspring or children). (72:1-3) In another instance, Allah described the reaction of the Jinn when they heard the recitation of the Noble Qur’an. Allah [ All praises to Allah god of the universes ] said: (They said: "O our people! Verily, we have heard a Book (this Qur’ân) sent down after The Prophet Mûsâ alaihisalam (peace be upon him), confirming what came before it: it guides to the truth and to a Straight Path ( Islâm). O our people! Respond (with obedience) to Allâh’s Caller (that is Allâh’s Messenger The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him)), and believe in him ( believe in that which The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) has brought from Allâh and to be follow). Allâh S.w.t will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from a painful torment (of Hell-fire)." (46:30,31)

Because of all this, the Qur’an is superior to all the previous divine books. Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes ] said: "And verily, it (this Qur’ân) is in the Mother of the Book ( Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûdh), with Us, indeed exalted, full of wisdom)." (43:4) In another verse Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes] said: "And We have sent down to you (O Muhammad (S.a.w~peace be upon him)) the Book (this Qur’ân) in truth, confirming the Scripture that came before it and Muhaymin (trustworthy in highness and a witness) over it (of Masterpiece Scriptures)." (5:48)

The most important characteristic of the Noble Qur’an is its miraculous and beautiful verses style. Though all the divine books are miraculous; narrating the news of the unseen and detailing the rulings and judgements; however, they do not contain the extraordinary method by which the Noble Qur’an is distinguished. Allah [ All praises to Allah god of the universes] said: "And Verily, it (this Qur’ân) is in the Mother of the Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz), with Us, indeed exalted, full of wisdom). (43:4). There is another proof confirming this fact in the Noble Qur’an and that is in Allah’s [ All praises to Allah god of the universes] saying: (You [true believers in Islâmic Religion, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad (S.a.w~peace be upon him)) and his Sunnah] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind)" (3:110).

The famous Muslim scholar, Al-Hafidh Ibn Kathîr, said that the Muslim Nation achieved this priority by virtue of the blessings of the Noble Qur’an, which Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes] preferred to all the revealed books, made it superior and Muhaymin (trustworthy in highness and a witness) of them and to abrogate and conclude them all. It is also worth mentioning that the other revealed books were revealed at once and not gradually in stages like the Noble Qur’an, which denotes the great care and interest attached to the Qur’an and to the Prophet Muhammad S.a.w, upon whom it was descended. Every time a portion of the Noble Qur’an was revealed, it was equivalent to the revelation of a complete book from among the previously revealed ones. [Fadâ’il Al-Qur’ân (The Virtues of the Noble Qur’an) by Al-Hafidh Ibn Kathîr. pp. 102,103]

This blessed Book, The Noble Holy Al Qur’an, stated many of the cosmic scientific facts proving the existence of Allah. Allah the Almighty said: "And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?" (21:30) The Qur’an also urges us to benefit from every conceivable thing in this life.Allah [ All praises to Allah god of the universes] said: "Say: "Behold all that is in the heavens and the earth,"" (10:101) In another verse Allah the Almighty said: "And Allah has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all as a favour and kindness from Allah. Verily, in it are signs for a people who think deeply." (45:13)

Therefore, it is the duty of Muslims to contemplate the miracles of the universe, enjoying the fruits of these mighty powers which Allah has put in the stores of Allah heavens and Allah earth.

It is true that the merits of the Noble Qur’an may never end. It is the Book that cultivated the love of justice and consultation in the hearts of the Muslims and made them hate injustice and despotism. The motto of those who follow the Qur’an is: the strong faith, self-denial, altruism and mutual mercy.

A Muslim should dedicate his time to the Noble Qur’an, reciting it, understanding it, acting according to its instructions and memorizing it. This is the attitude of the believers, described by Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes ] in the Qur’an as follows: "Verily, those who recite the Book of Allâh (The kitab Al Qur’ân), and perform prayer (Salât), and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a (sure) trade-gain that will never perish. That Allah may pay them their reward in full, and give them (even) more, of Allah Grace. Verily Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (good deeds and to recompense)." (35: 29,30)

In these two verses Allah the Almighty praises those who recite Allah Book and combine their recitation with contemplation and feeling. Undoubtedly, feeling and sensitivity lead the one reciting the Noble Qur’an to act according to the rulings of the verses Allah recites.

The believers believe that the reward of Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes ] is better than the property they spend. Moreover, they engage in the trade that will be the reason for getting their reward and more from the Grace of Allah, as verily Allah is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Ready to appreciate, the One who forgives the shortcomings and rewards the good deeds.

Thus, it is imperative to read the Noble Qur’an with contemplation in order to comprehend the Qur’anic statements accurately. However, if the reader is unable to understand anything from the Noble Qur’an, he has to ask the people specialized in the field. Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes ] said: "So ask (you, O pagans of Makkah) of those who know the Scripture [learned men of the kitab al Taurât(the book taurat) and the kitab al Injil(the book injil) if you know not." (16:43) Studying the Noble Qur’an is recommendable at all times. It is not a must to recite the Qur’an in the mosque in order to attain reward. This is confirmed by The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w Hadîth: "No people gather together remembering Allah the Almighty without the angels surrounding them...," So, if they gather in a place other than the mosque and recite the Noble Qur’an and remember Allah, they will obtain the same reward as gathering and reciting the Qur’an in the mosque. Gaining gathering for reciting and studying the Book of Allah and learning the basics of religion as well as comprehending the rulings and wisdoms interspersed in the verses in any place, whether it is the mosque or any other place, is rewarded with the best reward. However, gathering in the mosque is better than gathering in any other place, because of the blessings and the virtues of the mosque which are not found elsewhere.

On the authority of ‘Abdullâh Ibn Mas‘ûd (may Allah be pleased with him)recalled that the Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) said: "He who reads a single letter from the Book of Allah will have one good deed as a reward, and every single good deed will be equated to ten good deeds. I do not consider "Alif-Lâm-Mîm" as only one letter but "Alif" is a letter, "Lam" is another letter, and "Mîm" is a third letter" [Narrated by At-Tirmidhi, Hadîth no.3075]

On the authority of ‘Uthmân bin ‘Affân (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad s.a.w (peace be upon him) said: "The best in reward among you is the one who learnt and memorized the Noble Qur’an and thereafter taught it to other people" [Sahîh Al-Bukhâri, Hadîth no. 4793]. This is a concrete evidence of the virtue and blessing of learning the Noble Qur’an and teaching it. It also encourages the believer to study and memorize the Book of Allah. A famous Muslim scholar, Sufyân Ath-Thauri, was asked about the best thing for the Muslim tp do, He said that it is better for the Muslim to read the Noble Qur’an because the Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) said: "The best among you is the one who learnt and memorized the Noble Qur’an and thereafter taught it to other people". Furthermore, Imâm Abu ‘Abdur-Rahmân As-Salmi stayed in Al-Kûfa mosque for forty years teaching the Noble Qur’an. Whenever he remembered the above mentioned Hadîth he said that this Hadîth was the main reason behind his stay in the mosque teaching the Noble Qur’an.

Al-Hafidh Ibn Kathîr in his book titled "Fadâ’il Al-Qur’ân" (The Virtues of the Noble Qur’an) pp.126, 127 said that the main idea of the above Hadîth is that the Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) described the best of the Muslims as the one who learns the Noble Qur’an and thereafter teaches it to other people. Ibn Kathîr stressed that these are the qualities of the believers who follow the Rasul (Messengers) (peace be upon them all). The believers are those who are perfect in their personality and who endeavour all the time to make others attain perfection and thus obtain benefit for themselves and for others. This description of the believers is contrary to the description of the disbelievers who neither benefit anyone nor let others strive to obtain their own benefit. Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes ] said: "Those who disbelieved and hinder (men) from the Path of Allâh, for them We will add torment over torment because they used to spread corruption [by disobeying Allâh themselves, as well as ordering others (mankind) to do so]." (16:88) In another verse Allah said: "And they prevent others from him (from following Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him)) and they themselves keep away from him, and (by doing so) they destroy not but their ownselves, yet they perceive (it) not." (6:26) The most correct interpretation of this verse is that it was revealed concerning those who prevent people from following the Noble Qur’an and at the same time refrain from following it. Thus, they combine both belying the Qur’an and hindering people from following it. Allah (All praises to Allah god of the universes ) said: "Who then does more wrong than one who rejects the Ayât (evidences, verses,) of Allâh and turns away therefrom?." (6:157) This is the description of the disbelievers, which is in contradiction to the description of the believers who strive to perfect themselves and try to make others attain perfection as mentioned in the Hadîth of the Messenger of Allah,The Muhammad s.a.w (peace be upon him). Allah described this kind of people in this verse: "And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My God is Allâh (believes in Allah Oneness)," and then stands firm (acts upon Allah Order), and] invites (men) to Allâh’s (Islâmic Religion), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."" (41:33) This kind of person mentioned in the verse combines the qualities of inviting people to the way of Allah, through proclaiming Adhân (the call to prayer) or by any other means, such as teaching the Noble Qur’an, the Hadîth of the Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him), the Islamic law, and other branches of knowledge. These rites are performed for the sake of Allah and for the performance of good, in word and deed. Thus, none will be better than such kind of person.

As Allah Mercy envelops those who recite Allah Book and follow the commandments included therein, it also overwhelms those who listen to it. Allah the Almighty said: "The believers are only those who, when Allâh is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when Allah Verses (this Holy Book Qur’ân) are recited unto them, they (thru' the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in Allah (Alone); Who perform the prayer (Salât) and spend out of that We have provided them. It is they who are the believers in truth. For them are grades of dignity with their God, and Forgiveness and a generous provision (Paradise)." (8:2-4)

‘Abdullâh bin Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad S.a w (peace be upon him) said to me: recite the Qur’an for me. He asked: Messenger of Allah, (how) should I recite to you whereas it has been sent down to you? He (The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w) said: I desire to hear it from someone else. So I recited Sûrat Al-Nisâ’ till I reached the verse: (How then shall it be when We shall bring from every people a witness and bring you against them as a witness?) I lifted my head, or a person touched me to attract my attention, and so I lifted my head and saw his (The Prophet's~ Muhammad S.a.w) tears falling. [Narrated by Al-Bukhâri, Hadîth no.4582 and by Muslim, Hadîth no.800, and by Abû Dâwûd, Hadîth no.3668]

Imâm An-Nawawi said that there are a lot of benefits in this Hadîth. The first one is the virtue of listening to the Noble Qur’an attentively; weeping while listening to it and pondering over the meanings of its verses. The second benefit is the virtue of asking others to recite the Noble Qur’an for the person, which is more impressive than reading by oneself.

Therefore, it is the duty of every Muslim to recognize the status of the Noble Qur’an and act upon its rulings. It is also one’s duty to abide by the rites of religion during listening to the Noble Qur’an and to follow the way of the Salaf (Righteous Muslim Predecessors who are the ideal to follow) in reading the Noble Qur’an. They are the guiding stars that should be followed and imitated in every aspect of life. They ( the Salaf) were the best examples to be followed in their perfect submission to Allah and in their understanding of the meanings of the Noble Qur’an. They had strong belief in Allah’s saying: "And truly, this (the Qur’ân) is a revelation from Allah S.w.t the god of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists), Which the trustworthy Jibrîl has brought down Upon your heart (O Muhammad (peace be upon him) that you may be (one) of the warners, In the plain Arabic language)." [26:192-95]

It is true that the Noble Qur’an, its words and meanings, is from Allah. The divine legislation for all people and creatures; the first and the foremost reference for religious matters for Muslims; the judge solving all the problems in all affairs. It is worth mentioning that the rulings in the Noble Qur’an did not descend all at once, but came gradually, during the time of the Message. That some aimed at supplying the Muslim Nation with knowledge and action. Still others were revealed on the occasions of some events that happened to Muslims in their daily lives in different times and places. Whenever something happened, certain portions of the Qur’an were to be revealed to give ample clarification about Allah’s judgement with regard to that event. These included juridical cases and historical events that used to take place in the nascent Muslim community during the era when legislation was in its formative stage. An instance of that was the case regarding alcohol drinking

Imâm Ahmad narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) came to Madînah at a time when people were drinking wine and earning money by means of gambling. When they asked the Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) about that, the following verse was revealed: "They ask you (O Muhammad (peace be upon him) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: "In them is a great sin, and (some) benefit for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit"" (2:219)When this verse was revealed, people understood that the verse did not include a clear prohibition, rather it described the harm and the sins incurred by them, both. They continued drinking alcohol till a day when a man from the immigrants led the Maghrib (sunset) prayer and, having drunk alcohol, committed a lot of mistakes in recitation. Then, another verse, which is somehow more strict than the above was revealed. Allah the Almighty said: "O you who believe! Approach not the prayer when you are in a drunken state until you know (the meaning) of what you utter)." (4:43) People, however, continued to drink alcohol, except before prayers, in order to come to the prayer in their full senses. Then the following verse was revealed: "O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al-Ansâb, and Al-Azlâm (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaitân’s (Satan) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful. Shaitân (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allâh and from the prayer. So, will you not then abstain?". (5:90)

When this last verse was revealed all the Muslims said: "We abstain O our God". Some people asked the Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) about the ruling regarding those who were used to drinking alcohol and practicing gambling and died before that prohibition. Then, the following verse was revealed: "Those who believe and do righteous deeds, there is no sin on them for what they ate (in the past), if they fear Allâh (by keeping away from Allah forbidden things), and believe and do righteous deeds, and again fear Allâh and believe, and once again fear Allâh and do good deeds with Ihsân (perfection). And Allâh loves the good-doers)." (5:93) Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) said to his Companions: "If it was made unlawful for them, they would have abstained from drinking alcohol and practicing gambling, as you did." [Musnad Al-Imâm Ahmad (Imam Ahmad’s Compilation of Hadith), 2/351,352]. Anas bin Mâlik (may Allah be pleased with him) said that he was the cupbearer in the house of Abu Talhah. When alcohol was prohibited, an announcer was ordered (by the Prophet) to declare its prohibition among people. Abu Talhah asked Anas to go out to investigate the matter. When Anas told him about the prohibition of alcohol, Abu Talhah ordered Anas to spill all the alcohol they had. Anas said that the streets of Madînah were streaming with alcohol because all the people spilt out their alcohol, which was known as Fadîkh. Some people talked about the fate of those who used to drink it and died before it was made unlawful. Then, this verse was revealed: "Those who believe and do righteous deeds, there is no sin on them for what they ate (in the past), if they fear Allâh (by keeping away from Allah forbidden things), and believe and do righteous deeds, and again fear Allâh and believe, and once again fear Allâh and do good deeds with Ihsân (perfection)." (5:93)

We can conclude that alcohol was prohibited gradually and in three stages. The first stage was when this verse was revealed: "They ask you (O Muhammad (peace be upon him) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: "In them is a great sin, and (some) benefit for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit"" (2:219). Though this was not a decisive prohibition, those of strong faith managed to give up drinking alcohol. Then, ‘Umar bin Al-Khattâb (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Allah give us a decisive ruling regarding alcohol". Then, this verse was revealed: "O you who believe! Approach not the prayer when you are in a drunken state until you know (the meaning) of what you utter." (4:43) Afterwards, Muslims continued drinking alcohol and only avoided it at the times they apprehended that the effect of intoxication would last till the time of prayer. Then, ‘Umar bin Al-Khattâb said: "O Allah give us a decisive ruling regarding alcohol". Then these two verses were revealed: "O you who believe! Shaitân (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allâh and from As-Salât (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?" (5:90) Upon listening to these two verses, ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "We have abstained."

The aim of gradual legislation was to purify the Muslim Nation from all bad traditions and abominable habits that opposed the law of Allah and to perfect the Muslims with the virtues of forgiveness, patience, selflessness, love, trust, kind treatment of the neighbours, justice and many other good qualities.

Allah [ All praises to Allah god of the universes] Allah said: "The decision is only for Allâh,Allah declares the truth, and Allah is the Best of judges." (6:57) Allah only legislates that which benefits people and brings about goodness and happiness in this world and in the Hereafter, regardless of whether the wisdom behind the legislation is perceived or not.

The Noble Qur’an is the first source for legislation, while the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah,The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) is the second source. Muslim scholars unanimously agreed on the authority of the Sunnah as a source of legislation beside the Noble Qur’an. Allah the Almighty said: "O you who believe! Obey Allâh and obey the Rasul (Messenger) Muhammad S.a.w(peace be upon him) and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allâh and Rasulullah(The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him), if you believe in Allâh and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination)." (4:59). In another verse Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes ] said: "With clear signs and Books (We sent the Messengers). And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad (S.a.w~peace be upon him)) the Dhikr (reminder and the advice ( Holy Qur’ân)] that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought." (16:44). In a third place Allah [All praises to Allah god of the universes ] said: "And whatsoever the Rasulullah(Messenger of Allah The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him)) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it). And fear Allâh; verily, Allâh is Severe in punishment." (59:7)

Imâm Ibn Qiyim Al-Jawziyah defines the position of the Sunnah with regard to the Noble Qur’an saying: "The position of the Sunnah with respect to the Noble Qur’an is of three aspects. The first one is to be in accordance with the Noble Qur’an in all aspects and as a result the existence of the Sunnah with the Noble Qur’an in one issue will be of a reinforcing nature regarding the rulings. The second aspect is to be an explanation and manifestation of the rulings included in the Noble Qur’an. The third aspect of the position of the Sunnah to the Noble Qur’an is to clarify the obligations about which the Noble Qur’an kept silent and manifest the prohibitions, which are not explained in the Noble Qur’an.

Therefore, the role of the Sunnah is to emphasize the rulings of the Noble Qur’an, explain the texts thereof, expound the abridged, or initiate a ruling that is not mentioned in the Book of Allah. In spite of the important position of the Sunnah, we do not turn to the Sunnah for legislation, except when the ruling is not found in the Noble Qur’an. It is the Sunnah which explains to us that the number of prayers is five times a day; explains the number of Rak‘as in every prayer; defines the essence of the alms giving; defines who is obliged to perform it, and the shares thereof. It is the Sunnah that shows us the way of performing Hajj and ‘Umrah, and that the obligatory Hajj is once in one’s lifetime. It is the Sunnah which shows the Miqâts for Hajj and determines the number of times that Tawâf around the Ka‘bah should be performed.

Thus, it is the duty of everyone believing in the authority of the Noble Qur’an and the Sunnah and faith and to return to Allah the Almighty. Allah said: "And verily, I am indeed forgiving to him who repents, believes (in My Oneness, and associates none in worship with Me) and does righteous deeds, and then remains constant in doing them, (till his death)." (20:82)

Both of the Noble Qur’an and the Sunnah of Rasulullah(Messenger of Allah~The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him) are revelations from Allah to Rasulullah( Messenger of Allah The Prophet Muhammad S.a.w (peace be upon him). They are the two sources of legislation, which have guided human to our innate nature and made of us a human being who knows our real role in life, repeating this verse all the time: "All praises and thanks be to Allâh, Who has guided us to this, and never could we have found guidance, were it not that Allâh had guided us!" (7:43)

May the blessings and peace of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) upon his family and upon his honourable companions (may Allah be pleased with them all)

"He (God) said, "Therefore, you (Satan) must get out; you are 'rageem' (banished)"

"He (God) said, "Therefore, you (Satan) must get out; you are 'rageem' (banished)"

15:34 and 38:77

Due to the fact that there is no legislation in the Quran for the stoning ritual which Muslims practice during their Hajj, the Quranic word 'rageem' (in the above verse) has been corrupted by the followers of hadith to mean 'stoned', when it reality it means banished. Consequently, it has been falsely claimed that the stoning ritual during Hajj is authorised in the Quran!

The correct meaning of the word 'rageem', which is banished or expelled, can be easily confirmed by reading the following verse:

"He (God) said, "Therefore, you must go down, for you are not to be arrogant here. 'Ekhroj' (Get out); you are degraded." 7:13

We note here that God speaks of the same incident and of the same command given to Satan, the only difference between this verse and 15:34 is that God replaces the word 'rageem' in 15:34 with the word 'Ekhroj' which means (get out), thus the command to satan to be banished/expelled.

During the Hajj, Muslims collect 21 pebbles and throw them at 3 different stations (7 pebbles at each station). By doing so, they are led to believe that they are expressing their rejection of Satan and gaining spiritual strength to fight his evil influence. In support of such beliefs, they refer to some of the most ridiculous fabricated ‘hadith’, one of which claims that every time a stone is thrown at any of the three Satanic stations, that Satan in fact feels pain and groans in agony!! Believe that and you will believe anything! In actual fact the devil, and who is obviously not sitting at those silly alters waiting to be aimed at, is probably laughing his head off and rejoicing for succeeding in deviating the millions of idol worshippers from the sole aim of Hajj, which is to ‘Praise and commemorate God’, and in stead be preoccupied with his name! In reality, Satan has taken up two or three days of their valuable Hajj days to utter his name!! The fact that they are stoning him and cursing his name and not singing his praises is totally insignificant, simply because of the following facts:

1- The Quran tells us that the devil is made of fire and thus cannot be touched by physical matter (stones).

2- The devil is not sitting in these silly holes waiting to be stoned!

3- No human has the power or ability to see the devil or to be able to inflict him with any harm.

"O children of Adam, do not let the devil dupe you as he did when he caused the eviction of your parents from Paradise……………………He and his tribe see you, while you do not see them" 7:27

4- Every precious hour and day of the Hajj should be spent in commemorating the name of God Almighty alone, and not to utter the name of Satan. The Quran emphasises that the only duty of believers in the Hajj is to commemorate the name of God. The various verses which speak of Hajj in the Quran constantly emphasise this sole purpose of Hajj:

"And proclaim that the people shall observe Hajj pilgrimage …………… they shall commemorate God’s name during the specified days for providing them with the livestock" 22:27-28

"You shall commemorate God for a number of days" 2:203

"While you file from ‘Arafat’ you shall commemorate God………." 2:198

"As you complete your rites, you shall continue to commemorate God……" 2:200

5- God Almighty has prescribed for us in the Quran the only way to deal with the devil and that is to seek refuge in God from his whispers and not to throw silly stones!

"Say, ‘My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whispers of the devils, and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they come near me." 23:98

It is no surprise that after this obvious act of idolatry, to note that most of the people who die every year during Hajj in fact die at the location of the stoning, could this be a hint from God to warn the masses of their act of idolatry?
