Christina Hendricks Mad Men inspired bra from Marks and Spencer on sale next month

It can ruin a good outfit and do just as much damage to a woman’s confidence.

But unsightly bra bulge could become a thing of the past with the introduction of the first four-way brassiere – which promises to slim, push up, plunge and even allow you to go strapless.

Inspired by the Fifties hourglass silhouettes in U.S. show Mad Men, the design uses old-fashioned corsetry to smooth out any bulges.

In focus groups, women commonly complained they hated the bra ‘muffin top’, or the bulge that appears around the back and sides of some traditional underwear.

So the Flatter Me bra, which will cost £25 when it goes on sale next month, uses traditional boning and deep wings to remove the overspill – and boost cleavage.

Soozie Jenkinson, of Marks & Spencer, said: ‘Everyone wants that Fifties profile – a voluptuous figure with a nipped-in waist.’
