La Toya Jackson labels team member Star Jones 'manipulative and evil' after being fired from Celebrity Apprentice

She hasn't been the most popular celebrity candidate on the women's team over the past few weeks.

But tonight, La Toya Jackson's luck finally ran out when Donald Trump decided her team stood more chance of winning without her.

The 54-year-old singer was booted out of the boardroom after team mates Star Jones and NeNe Leakes ganged up on her to save their own skin.

While Jackson was gracious in the boardroom, whispering 'Thank you' to Trump, she made her true feelings known outside.

Although she hugged Leakes before departing, the singer refused to acknowledge Jones.

'I think Star Jones is a very manipulative person, I think she's very conniving and she's very evil,' she said during the cab ride home.

She spoke out after television presenter Jones declared that Jackson was the weakest link in the women's team, reality TV star Leakes agreed that she was 'not a strong player.'

'I don't think the team wants La Toya going forward and they know the problems they're going to have beating these three guys,' Trump said.

'I think it's going to be very tough for you to win, but we have to give you that chance. La Toya, you're fired.'

The latest task on Celebrity Apprentice saw the two teams designing advertising campaigns for Trump Hotels.

When revealing the new project, Trump did not miss the opportunity to get in a plug for his potential presidency run.

'Everybody's saying I should run for President. Meat Loaf, should I run for President?' he asked, to which the rocker replied: 'Absolutely.'

'Of course,' Star Jones agreed. 'I'm right here now, ready to roll.'

'Who would not vote for me?' Trump continued, prompting nervous laughter amongst the Apprentice contestants.

'Anybody that raised their hand would immediately be fired because they're stupid,' he said.

After Country singer John Rich nominated himself project manager for the men's team and Jones took on the leadership of the women, the teams got started on their campaigns.

While the women pampered themselves and produced a brochure highlighting luxury, the men's end result was more corporate-looking, with the slogan 'Live the life'.

John Rich and Lil Jon were less than impressed with Meat Loaf's efforts at photographing a butler for their ad campaign.

'He looks p***** off,' the country singer said, examining the photos. 'It looks like an outlaw picture of a guy that got murdered and stood up in the casket in the middle of town.

In the girls' team, meanwhile, Jackson and Leakes patched up their differences from previous weeks.

'I felt there were eyes rolling, talking behind my back. Girls, I'm human. That hurts,' Jackson said.

'You know that day you just cursed me out?' she added, addressing Leakes, 'That hurt me so badly but I tried to remain strong and said 'She doesn't even realise what she's doing'."

The singer added: 'I have nothing against you. Actually, I love you,' prompting the pair to hug and make up.

The teams' hotel brochures were judged by Jim Petrus, the CEO of Trump Hotels, and James Oseland, the editor-in-chief of Saveur magazine.

While the duo criticised the men's advert for being too wordy, littered with spelling mistakes and missing contact details, the women's product caused raised eyebrows.

'This campaign that the women did reminds me of those advertisements that get placed under your windshield wiper for sleazy clubs,' Oseland said.

The pair also spotted that you could see Playboy model Hope Dworaczyk was wearing a towel in a photo of her in the bath, and that she was sipping champagne from an unopened bottle.

'This is really a case of the lesser of two evils. There isn't really a winner,' Petrus said.

Trump told the teams that the executives did not like either of the adverts.

'They felt there was no winner - that's how bad it was. They felt that the loser was the women's team.'

While the men celebrated with drinks, Jones brought Leakes and Jackson back into the boardroom to fight for survival.

The singer declared that her project manager should get the boot, but was instead sent packing herself by Trump.

The surviving candidates had a tearful discussion after Jackson left the building, with Leakes telling Jones: 'You need to understand that we have to be a team.'

'I don't like losing,' the TV presenter replied.
