Royal Wedding: Diana would have been 'very, very proud', says Harry

You would have thought Prince Harry would have other things on his mind as he prepared for his gruelling Arctic trek to the North Pole with a group of wounded servicemen.

But getting used to sub-zero temperatures hasn't stopped him from thinking about his big brother's wedding at the end of April.

The 26-year-old said today that his late mother would have been 'very, very proud' that Prince William was getting married.

Harry touchingly added that he was looking forward to welcoming Kate Middleton into the family, and that she would become the sister he never had.

He said: 'A younger brother or younger sister would have been nicer, but to have a big sister is obviously very, very nice.

'I've got to know Kate pretty well, but now that she's becoming part
of the family, I'm really looking forward to getting her under my wing -
or she'll be taking me under her wing probably.

'She's a fantastic girl. She really is. My brother's very lucky, and she's very lucky to have my brother. I think the two of them are a perfect match.'

The Prince cheekily added: 'We all thought that it was never going to
happen for him. But it has happened, and I think everyone's going to be
very proud of him.'

The down-to-earth Prince, who spent last night in a tent in Norway in minus 30C temperatures, said his brother was right to wait to propose to his future bride - despite the pressure he was under.

'It's a big deal,' Harry said. 'It's not just a normal wedding.

'It's a really big decision for him to bring Kate into the family.

'It's obviously a huge amount of pressure for him, with the public perception and everything like that.'

Harry added: 'And I think he's done the right thing. He's waited, and he's done it when he feels right, and it's a huge step.'

The Walking With The Wounded charity expedition are due to fly out to their start point for the 200-mile challenge tomorrow.

The team aims to reach the North Pole in around a month's time.

Their celebrity member will not make it all the way as he'll have to fly back in time for the wedding.

While Harry is in the Arctic, his dad, Prince Charles is in sunny Spain with Camilla.

The Prince and Duchess are staying with the Spanish royal family at the Pardo Palace during their three-day visit.

The royal families share a long-standing friendship.

Both are descended from Queen Victoria.

Charles
made his affection for his distant relatives clear as he warmly greeted
the Princess and Prince of Asturias, Letizia and Felipe yesterday.

He has also extended a warm welcome to his future daughter-in-law.

Harry
said his father was 'over the moon' his firstborn was soon to be
married, and he has been helping Miss Middleton with the preparations.

He said: 'He's had a lot to do with the wedding, which is really really nice.

'He's so unbelievably busy, yet he's managed to make time to help Kate out with the music and stuff like that - the processional music - which I think is fantastic.

'He's obsessed with his music, and Kate obviously is a girl and I
think girls are all obsessed with music on their wedding days - they
must have a book of it.

'So the two of them have been slaving away and getting everything right. It's fantastic, it really is.'

The Prince remained tight-lipped about his brother's stag weekend, and laughed off questions about it, saying he was concentrating on the Arctic challenge ahead.

His best man speech is also on the back-burner - but Harry has promised he will make sure it's not too risque for his gran.
