EUGENE, Ore. — An arsonist who avoided federal prison five years ago by helping lock up Earth Liberation Front activists has been sentenced in Oregon to 27 months in prison for violating terms of his probation.
Jacob Ferguson was sentenced Thursday in Eugene
A federal judge said the sentence will be served at the same time Ferguson serves his recent five-year state prison sentence for selling heroin.
The 38-year-old Eugene man was on probation under a 2008 plea deal for his role in arsons by an Earth Liberation Front band known as “the Family.” Targets included a meat-packing company, car dealership, ranger station and lumber company.
The Register Guard reports an assistant U.S. attorney asked Judge Ann Aiken to make Ferguson’s federal sentence follow his state time, but she decided it would be served concurrently.
